Here we have a Glas Customs Telecaster build inspired by the golden-era transitional models of the early 1960s, finished in translucent honey blonde and relic’d as part of our 2025 Fall Collection. The alder body is lightweight at just 7.6 lbs, resonant and lively when played acoustically. The finish has been UV-bombed to simulate decades of natural exposure, then naturally checked, yellowed, and dulled through a true cracked-lacquer process. Every screw, plastic, and hardware piece has been carefully aged to match, resulting in a cohesive, authentic feel throughout. Even the pickguard shows natural warp and lift like the originals — a detail that immediately evokes a true vintage Tele.
This build nails the transitional character of the period: a 3-ply guard paired with a maple neck, dome-top control knobs, and steel saddles. It’s the blend of late-’50s holdovers and early-’60s updates that defined this short-lived but iconic spec.
The genuine Fender neck has been fully refinished in nitrocellulose lacquer and hand-sanded to a naturally faded, played-in feel. Edges are rolled, the back shows tasteful wear, and it is fitted with a hand-shaped nut. The truss rod is in perfect working order and set with correct relief. While the aesthetic is vintage, the neck brings modern player features: a headstock-adjust truss rod, 22 frets instead of 21, and medium jumbo wire for smooth bends and easier maintenance. The maple fingerboard shows natural play wear at the butt end from string contact, a detail that reinforces the vintage look. Tuners are vintage-style Klusons relic’d to match, and the headstock wears a relic’d decal applied on top of the lacquer, just like Fender did back in the day. The build is finished with a Glas Guitars branded neck plate — our signature mark.
Electronics are a matched Fender Texas Special Tele set — bridge ~9.8k and neck ~8.8k — delivering classic Tele snap with added heat and mid push for modern stages. The entire harness is brand new, wired to full vintage spec with CTS 450G 250k pots, a Fender 3-way selector switch, cloth wiring throughout, and a TonePros 4-point jack. Unlike the flimsy Tele cup jacks that often work loose, the TonePros system locks in solid and stays tight for life. It’s a pro-grade upgrade that makes a huge difference in reliability — no spinning, no cracking, no weak connections. At the heart of the circuit is a genuine 1960s USSR KBG 0.025µF paper-in-oil capacitor — not a reissue or replica, but an original Cold War–era part from vintage stock. These are prized for their clarity and character, adding harmonic richness that no modern repro can duplicate.
Hardware includes the classic Tele bridge with three steel saddles and dome-top controls, properly relic’d for age and function. The guitar is strung with 10–46s, set up low and fast, and plays effortlessly while keeping the Tele’s trademark snap and spank.

The lightweight body rings like an old friend, while the Texas Specials bring the authority and output older blackguard sets never had. Add in the TonePros jack system and you’ve got rock-solid reliability to match the look and tone. It looks every bit the transitional-era Telecaster but plays and performs like a modern workhorse — loud, clear, and ready to rip.
Now — love them or hate them, relics are what they are. But we ask that you take a moment to appreciate the amount of hands-on work that goes into every inch of a build like this. We’re not striving to make 100% historically accurate museum clones — we’re riffing on the era with a player-first mindset. These are art pieces as much as instruments, with every choice made to look, feel, and most importantly, sound amazing.
The guitar ships in a relic’d G&G brown tolex hard case with gold interior — lightly aged and perfectly matched to the build.
At GG, every guitar we list goes through a full inspection and setup. This one is ready to plug in and play.
