Here we have a Glas Customs Les Paul build inspired by the golden-era Gibsons of the early to mid 1960s — part of our 2025 Fall Collection. It started life as a 1999 Gibson Les Paul Standard, built during the final years of Gibson's “good wood” era. From there, it underwent a nine-month Glas Customs transformation to become the fully aged, tone-obsessed instrument you see here. Every element — sonic, visual, tactile — has been shaped to deliver feel, function, and vibe.

This is not a lightweight or hollowed-out build — it’s the real deal. Solid mahogany body, no chambering, and a full maple cap. Weight comes in at 10.2 lbs, and it rings loud and true when played unplugged. You can feel every note resonate through the neck joint and body, just like the old ones did.

The finish has been UV-bombed to simulate decades of natural light exposure and fully relic’d with a real cracked nitro process — not faux or artificial, but true lacquer checking created by freezing and baking. Every screw, bushing, plastic part, and hardware component has been aged by hand. The pickguard is properly yellowed, the plastics are dulled and faded, and the metal has been naturally oxidized to match. It’s fitted with a set of relic’d vintage-style Kluson tuners, aged to match the rest of the hardware and functioning perfectly.

The electronics are fully vintage-spec. We wired it using ’50s-style braided cloth with vintage 60's KBG USSR paper-in-oil capacitors — a 0.015µF cap in the neck for added clarity and vocal top end, and a 0.025µF in the bridge for fat, round mids and tighter low end. CTS 450G 500K audio taper pots were chosen for their consistency, reliability, and vintage-correct taper — smooth and responsive across the full sweep. The result is an incredibly dynamic control range that cleans up beautifully without getting dull.

In the bridge, we’ve installed a Triple Clone Arcane PAF — one of the most accurate and tone-rich PAF replicas available today, handmade right here in Los Angeles by our good friends at Arcane Pickups. It’s voiced to be an exact spec ’59: unpotted, with period-correct magnets and winding. The aged parchment bobbins look and feel the part, but the tone is what’ll sell you — open, harmonically rich, with a bite when you dig in and a sweetness when you back off. The neck pickup is the original Gibson USA 490R, offering smooth, clear response and a perfect foil to the PAF’s aggression.

The neck profile is a thick, palm-filling Rounded ‘50s carve with no flattening or taper tricks — just a full, honest neck. The original frets have been fully dressed, crowned, and polished, with the fretboard edges softly rolled by hand. The result is something that plays like your favorite old guitar from the first strum. The truss rod is fully functional, turns smoothly in both directions, and has been properly set during the final setup.

And yes — the neck has been broken and reset by us, on purpose. We know, it’s not the kind of thing people love hearing, but hear us out. Structurally, this was done to add both durability and authenticity to the build. There's a reason so many legendary Les Pauls — Greeny included — have had neck breaks. Some even say the best ones all do. This one is solid, stable, and better off for it.

This guitar is currently set up with 9–42 strings and plays like hot butter — super low, loose, and effortless. It practically melts under your fingers with no resistance, just smooth response up and down the board.

Neck specs:
Nut Width: 1.695" (43mm)
Neck Profile: Rounded ‘50s
Fingerboard Radius: 12"
Neck Thickness at 1st Fret: ~0.88"
Neck Thickness at 12th Fret: ~0.98"

This one is a looker, a lifer, and a tone machine. Plugged in or unplugged, the resonance and response are undeniable. The Arcane PAF speaks fluently in the language of burst tone — think Page, Kossoff, early Clapton, Green, and beyond. Combined with the neck pickup and vintage circuit, it gives you all the flavors of classic LP tones without the collector markup.

Now — love them or hate them, relics are what they are. But we ask that you take a moment to appreciate the amount of hands-on work that goes into every inch of a build like this. We’re not striving to make 100% historically accurate museum clones — we’re riffing on the era with a player-first mindset. These are art pieces as much as instruments, with every choice made to look, feel, and most importantly, sound amazing.

Guitar ships in a relic’d Gibson historic-style hard case with purple interior — aged hardware, worn leather handle, and just the right vibe to match the build.

At GG, every guitar we list goes through a complete service and setup — no surprises, no half jobs. This one is fully dressed, tuned, and ready to rip. If you want more pics, check us out online — we’re limited on the number we can show here.

Buy with confidence, and please check our feedback. We ship fully insured within 24 hours of cleared payment and use recycled packaging whenever possible. We pack with care and encourage you to recycle upon receipt.
