GLAS Custom 1960 Telecaster Relic with Bigsby, in aged Candy Apple Red with a maple neck. Custom relic Tweed G&G case. Handmade right here in glorious L.A.
This is a riff on a 1960 traditional pre-CBS Telecaster with a mid relic feel, with a Bigsby added as a mod. The Fender 60's U/C maple neck has a 9.5" radius with hand-rolled medium jumbo frets for a vintage feel but modern functionality. The neck is brand new but aged to show the years of light play wear. No heavy pitting on the fretboard, just some nice aging and strum wear. Finished in amber nitro and worked from 4-5000 grit, it has a satin finish. Has vintage-aged Kluson tuners and the period-correct decal, string tree, and a hand-finished bone nut. Looks old, feels broken-in, but plays like new. The neck pocket is as tight as it gets, and it plays itself. All the neck sizes are pictured in this listing if required.
The Fender 2-piece alder body is a lovely 8 lbs dead (under 8 lbs with the Bigsby removed), UV-bombed Candy Apple Red nitro finish, and weighs a perfect 7.6 lbs. Hand-aged cream plastics have been nicely finished, as have the controls and hardware. Steel vintage saddles in an ashtray bridge with the Bigsby to top it off. We used a non-traditional Bigsby bridge and plate (but Fender-style) so that if the tremolo is removed, the bridge and saddle setup can be left as is. We have some modern additions with a screw-in jack plate and modern 3-way switching electronics.
This beast comes equipped with the best of components—hand-wired with vintage specs, a rewound factory black-wrapped CS Texas Special in the bridge hitting a super-hot 14.5k, with a NoCaster neck pickup. The axe has full vintage wiring, CTS 450G 250k audio taper pots, Fender 3-way switch, Switchcraft jack, and a .047 Orange Drop cap. It’s a modern wiring setup but with classic materials. This guitar plays and sounds like a million bucks. We could not have been happier with how she turned out—it really is a superb Tele...just look at her!

Whether you like them or hate them, these custom builds take a huge amount of time and effort. Please appreciate the lengths that are gone to and the time it takes to create these guitars. Why spend 2-3 times the amount on a Custom Shop when you can get this one for less?
The guitar has been completely set up from top to bottom with 9-42s and is ready for its new owner. The guitar is playing like hot butter. Killer axe and the perfect weight—it plays like absolute butter!
