This Glas Custom SG Junior is a one-of-a-kind piece from our 2025 Fall Collection, modeled after an extremely rare mid-60s special-order TV Yellow SG Junior — the kind Gibson never officially released but that has appeared in a handful of documented examples over the years. While never part of the standard production line, a few TV Yellow SG Juniors have surfaced from the mid-1960s — likely the result of custom dealer orders or rare factory one-offs. This build riffs on that elusive spec with all the vibe, feel, and playability you'd want in a killer rock machine.
This guitar began life as a solid, golden-era 2006 Gibson USA SG Junior, now completely stripped and professionally refinished in thin-skinned TV Yellow nitro. We then hit it with 9 months of intensive UV bombing, strategic heat treatment, and full relicing to authentically age the finish. Play wear, forearm fade, nitro burn-in, and lacquer checking are all present and convincing. It’s not a museum-perfect reissue — it’s a riff on the era, meant to feel like a real-deal 60-year-old workhorse with a soul.
The wiring harness is all vintage spec:
- Gibson 500k audio taper pots
- 1960s KBG USSR capacitor — 0.025uf
- Full vintage braided wiring throughout
The original Gibson P-90 has been expertly rewound by our good friends at Arcane Pickups here in LA to a custom "Doom Spec" — pushing the mids and low-end while keeping the top-end tight. It sounds gnarly, rich, and brutally articulate — just how a great Junior should growl.
Hardware includes relic’d vintage Kluson inline tuners, and a TonePros wraparound bridge — an essential upgrade to ensure modern playability and intonation without sacrificing vintage look or feel. We’ve also added a 5-ply custom-made pickguard, just because we could — and it looks super cool.
This one is light and alive — weighing in at only 6.2 lbs — and plays like a total shred machine. It’s set up with 9–42s, dialed in with a super, super low, fast action, and feels smooth and responsive across the entire board.
The neck has factory stock Jescar 47104 vintage frets — freshly crowned, polished, and hand-rolled for smooth edge transitions. Neck has a comfortable, slightly chunky feel — very close to a 60s medium C with rounded shoulders. Frets are level and buzz-free.

The truss rod is perfectly functional, responsive in both directions, and the neck has ideal relief. It’s rock solid.
It comes in an original 1970s vintage non-branded SG-style hardshell case. It fits beautifully and completes the whole vibe.
