Here’s a rad one you don’t see every day. It’s a 2008 Gibson SG Robot in vintage cherry, and this one’s been cleverly converted—no more robot tuning nonsense, just killer classic SG performance with a slick little twist.
The neck is a slim 60s-style taper and feels fast and comfortable. Super dark rosewood fingerboard with nice inlays, and the frets are in excellent condition with minimal wear. No cracks, no repairs—this one’s clean, tight, and ready to rock. The nut is original, and the truss rod turns smoothly. Neck is dead straight and dialed in.
The finish is a beautiful vintage cherry with only light signs of handling. No major marks or dings—just a few micro-swirlies and tiny clear coat touches here and there. It weighs in at a solid 7.6 lbs, which is right where you want an SG—super resonant and well balanced. The body’s got all the classic SG punch and bite you’d expect, with that airy upper-mid sizzle that cuts great in a mix.
Now for the fun part. The original Robot tuning system has been professionally disconnected, and the CPU knob has been converted into a fully functional kill switch—a super cool mod that’s practical and tastefully done. It still includes the original Robot CPU board and battery in the case, so you could revert it back if you wanted to (though no charger is included). But honestly? It’s way better this way.
Comes with the original Gibson hardshell case. Set up with 9-42s and playing buttery smooth.
