This one is an ode to Sunset Strip. Think late-’80s Los Angeles session shredder, the number-one axe that survived rehearsals, showcases, studio lockouts, packed clubs and more than a few neck swaps along the way. Finished in aged Arctic White with parchment plastics and one screaming neon-yellow bridge humbucker, it has all the attitude of a heavily played working guitar with the speed and reliability of a modern performance build.
The relic work tells the story throughout, with worn edges, scratches, hardware aging and the sort of honest-looking battle scars you would expect from a guitar that lived beside a wall of rack gear and hot-rodded Marshalls. At 8.2 lbs, it feels substantial and balanced without becoming cumbersome.
The centerpiece is a genuine Fender American Ultra II neck with a dark ebony fingerboard. Built around Fender’s high-performance Modern D profile, it features a 10"–14" compound radius, 22 medium-jumbo frets, extensively rolled fingerboard edges, a 25.5" scale and a 42.8mm Graph Tech TUSQ nut. The quartersawn maple construction, re-finished in satin nitro, with Fender locking tuners complete the modern session-player setup.
Like every Glas build, the neck pocket is exceptionally tight, helping transfer vibration cleanly between the neck and body. The frets have been professionally dressed and polished, the nut work checked, and the entire instrument dialed in for low, loose and rapid playability.
The pickup configuration is where the full hair-metal personality comes alive.
The neck and middle positions are loaded with DiMarzio DP188 Pro Track rail humbuckers. Warm, smooth and completely hum-canceling, the Pro Track is voiced like a compact vintage-style PAF while retaining the focus, alignment and attack of a Strat-sized blade pickup. Together they deliver thick neck leads, polished cleans and powerful in-between sounds without traditional single-coil noise.
The bridge is a Seymour Duncan SH-6B Duncan Distortion in unapologetic neon yellow. This high-output passive humbucker brings tight lows, aggressive upper mids and a cutting top end designed for driven rock and metal tones. It has the output and definition needed for fast rhythm work, harmonics and saturated lead playing without losing clarity.
Electronics include:
- CTS matched 450G potentiometers
- 5-way pickup selector switch
- Full vintage-style wiring
- TonePros four-point output jack
-
0.047μF Orange Drop capacitor
The chrome hardware has been tastefully relic’d throughout. A vintage-spacing synchronized tremolo is set fully floating with three springs, giving it smooth movement in both directions while retaining a stable, responsive feel. Graph Tech white saddles reduce friction and add another practical performance upgrade. The tremolo arm is included.
The cream pickguard, knobs and switch tip keep the visual language rooted in a worn Olympic White Strat, while the neon-yellow Duncan bridge pickup pushes it straight into hot-rodded LA territory.
Set up with 9–42 strings, the action is low, fast and effortless. The compound-radius neck invites wide bends and aggressive upper-register work, while the floating tremolo and locking tuners make it ready for everything from wide vibrato to full dive-bomb abuse.
