Here we have a Glas Customs Strat-style build from the Fall 2025 “Golden Era” collection — a heavy relic tribute to the golden-age 1961 Stratocaster, done up with Mad Max aesthetic: rust on rust on rust, metal on metal. We've named it the "Copperhead Strat" for its scorched, UV-aged Aztec Gold finish that leans deep into copper tones — dark, complex, and aggressive. This is a featherweight, full-vintage spec build assembled entirely from genuine Fender parts, voiced and relic’d by hand in Los Angeles.
The body is genuine Fender alder, contoured to 1960s specs and finished in copper-aged Aztec Gold nitrocellulose. It’s been fully UV relic’d and freeze-checked, with oxidized bare wood bleed-through and metal-on-metal visual touches. The anodized gold guard is chemically aged for a tarnished, wartime patina, and the parchment plastics have been dulled, yellowed, and texturized for a perfect '60s look. All finish, aging, and assembly is done in-house — nothing outsourced. Our Glas Guitars LA brand stamp is on the rear. Every detail is dialed.
The neck is a genuine Fender 21-fret maple neck, featuring a modern C profile and 9.5" radius. It’s got 21 medium jumbo frets, all crowned, dressed, and polished. The nut is hand-shaped and smoothed. Rear of the neck is fully relic’d with playwear, and the fretboard shows beautiful darkened lacquered gloss from decades of simulated use. There’s subtle strum wear at the butt of the neck — exactly where decades of use would leave its mark. The headstock carries a period-correct vintage-style decal, relic’d with copper hues to complement the body tones. Neck pocket is super tight, and truss rod works smoothly in both directions. The feel is fast and worn-in — no stick, no glare, just play.
Pickups are hand-wound Arcane USA '54s — slightly darker and hotter than vintage spec, with clear mids and a dry top end that pairs beautifully with the lightweight alder body. The neck pickup is warm and vocal without getting muddy. The middle has that woody, scooped quack. The bridge has bite, but thanks to the added tone control, you can tame it down for smoky leads or keep it wide open for snarling attitude. It’s a wide palette — bold but never harsh. Vintage cloth wiring throughout, using CTS 450G 250k pots and a real vintage 1960 KBG USSR 0.025μF paper-in-oil capacitor — not a reissue. We’ve wired the tone control to work on the bridge pickup for extra usability. 5-way switch. Grounding is vintage-spec and dead silent.
Hardware includes a Fender vintage bridge with 55mm spacing, 3-spring flat/fixed tremolo setup for extra stability and sustain, vintage-correct saddles, Kluson Supreme staggered tuners, and a TonePros 4-point jack plate for reliable stage performance. The guitar ships in a cream tolex G&G hard case with gold plush interior — lightly reliced for subtle vibe without overdoing it.
Now — relics aren’t for everyone. But these builds aren’t trying to be exact museum clones. They’re player-first instruments that riff on the golden era with a purpose: to deliver tone, feel, and aesthetic in equal measure. They take 6 to 9 months to complete, and every detail is handled in-house. From the UV aging to the real nitro checking, hand-shaped nut, and period-correct wiring, these are full-on boutique builds — crafted for the serious player who wants vintage tone without vintage problems.
This one comes in at a featherlight 7.0 lbs — acoustically loud and deeply resonant. Set up with 9–46s, the action is super low, loose, and fast. It plays effortlessly, with no stiffness anywhere on the board.
