This is part of the GG Fall “Golden Era” collection launching soon — a vintage-correct, USA-made Strat-style build with all the feel, tone, and vibe of the early 1960s. It’s not a museum piece — it’s a fully aged, fully usable, no-compromise tone machine built for players who want the old feel without the old problems.
The body is a one-piece swamp ash Stratocaster body, Glas Guitars branded and cut to early ’60s spec right here in the USA. It’s finished in translucent vintage white nitrocellulose lacquer and aged heavily with real lacquer checking — frozen, baked, and worn-in the honest way. The finish has been UV-bombed to simulate decades of natural light exposure, and every detail — from the oxidized metal to the dulled plastics — has been carefully relic’d by hand. It features a flat, fixed five-spring trem setup and a proper 55mm bridge spacing — true vintage USA spec. Weight is an ultra-featherlight 7.6 lbs, making this an incredibly resonant and comfortable instrument for long sessions or live play.
It’s loaded with a set of boutique Arcane '61 pickups — hand-wound using traditional methods and authentic vintage winding machines. These are some of the most dynamic, articulate, and expressive Strat-style pickups on the market today. Made right here in Los Angeles by our good friends at Arcane, they deliver all the shimmer, chime, and clarity you’d expect from golden-era single coils — but with modern consistency and responsiveness. Every nuance comes through.
Controls are wired vintage-style with cloth pushback wire and a real 1960 KBG USSR paper-in-oil capacitor — not a reissue, but the real deal. We’ve also added one essential modern tweak: tone control on the bridge pickup. Leo didn’t include it back in the day — most original Strats left the bridge wide open — but in the modern world, it’s a must. This lets you shape the highs and dial in your sound without giving up the classic tones you want. CTS 450G 250k pots provide smooth, reliable taper and that vintage sweep you expect. Grounding is full vintage-style, and it’s topped off with a TonePros four-point Switchcraft jack — rock solid and built to last.
The genuine Fender neck is built to early 1960s spec and features a vintage U/C 60s carve, 7.25" fingerboard radius, rosewood slab board, and vintage frets. The back of the neck shows a natural play-worn fade, and there’s subtle strum wear right at the butt of the neck — just where your hand would be digging in over decades. Finished by hand in aged nitro. The fretboard edges have been hand-rolled, and the frets fully crowned, dressed, and polished. Truss rod turns smoothly and adjusts perfectly. It’s the little touches that make this one feel instantly familiar and broken-in — like an old friend you’ve been playing for 30 years.
It’s topped with a vintage-spec, period-correct decal — applied on top of the lacquer, just like the good old days. Tuners are staggered Kluson Supremes, aged to match the rest of the build. The neck plate is Glas-branded and relic’d to suit. The nut is hand-shaped and cut to vintage spec — another small but important detail in the feel of the guitar.
The guitar is currently strung with 9–42s and plays like a super-fast dream machine — light, responsive, and expressive with every touch. Smooth action across the board, ready for anything from clean comping to wide bends and lead work.
