Here we have a Glas Customs Strat build inspired by a golden-era 1962 Fender, finished in translucent honey blonde and relic’d as part of our 2025 Fall Collection. The body is lightweight alder, ringing out acoustically and coming in at just 7.6 lbs. The finish has been UV-bombed to simulate decades of natural exposure, then naturally checked, yellowed, and dulled through a true cracked-lacquer process. Every screw, plastic, and hardware piece has been carefully aged to match, resulting in a cohesive, authentic feel throughout. Even the pickguard shows natural warp and lift like the originals — a detail that immediately evokes a true vintage

The neck is a genuine Fender built to vintage spec, fully refinished in nitrocellulose lacquer and hand-sanded to a naturally faded, played-in feel. Edges are rolled by hand, the back shows worn-in fade and wear, and it is fitted with a hand-shaped nut. The truss rod is in perfect working order and the neck is set with proper relief. The rosewood slab board is dark and naturally relic’d, with honest wear at the butt end from decades of string contact — a small but telling detail that adds to the vintage vibe. The board carries 21 vintage frets, fully dressed, crowned, and polished for effortless playability. The profile is a slim 1960s C with a 7.25" radius, measuring approximately 0.82" at the first fret and 0.90" at the 12th. Nut width is 1.650" (42 mm). Period-correct Kluson tuners are relic’d to match, and the headstock wears a relic’d decal applied on top of the lacquer, just like Fender did back in the day.The build is completed with a Glas Guitars branded neck plate — our signature touch, identifying this as part of the Fall 2025 collection.

Electronics are loaded with a custom DiMarzio noiseless set: an Area 61 in the neck for smooth early-’60s clarity, an Area 67 in the middle for Hendrix-inspired glass and shimmer, and a hot Injector in the bridge for modern punch and bite. The entire harness is brand new, wired to full vintage spec using CTS 450G 250k pots, a Fender 5-way selector switch, cloth wiring throughout, and a TonePros 4-point jack. At the heart of the circuit is a genuine 1960s USSR KBG 0.025µF paper-in-oil capacitor — not a reissue, not a replica, but an original Cold War–era part pulled from vintage stock. It’s a detail you simply won’t find in off-the-shelf builds, and it’s part of what makes this Strat a cut above. Aged parchment plastics with cream knobs and pickup covers complete the look.

Hardware includes a flat-mounted tremolo decked with five springs (fixed), set up for stability and sustain. The guitar is currently strung with 9–42s and dialed in low, loose, and fast — effortless under the fingers with plenty of snap and response.

Neck specs:
Nut Width: 1.650" (42 mm)
Neck Profile: Slim ’60s C
Fingerboard Radius: 7.25" (184 mm)
Neck Thickness at 1st Fret: ~0.82"
Neck Thickness at 12th Fret: ~0.90"
Frets: 21 vintage (6230 style)
Nut: Hand-shaped
Truss rod: Fully functional, set with correct relief

This is the best of both worlds: a killer vintage look with modern playability and a bigger, more authoritative voice. The Area 61 neck delivers woody, vocal cleans; the Area 67 middle brings sparkling chime; and the Injector bridge has the output and mid focus to front a band. Quiet, touch-sensitive, and unapologetically modern-sounding when you want it — while still nailing era-correct Strat character.

Now — love them or hate them, relics are what they are. But we ask that you take a moment to appreciate the amount of hands-on work that goes into every inch of a build like this. We’re not striving to make 100% historically accurate museum clones — we’re riffing on the era with a player-first mindset. These are art pieces as much as instruments, with every choice made to look, feel, and most importantly, sound amazing.

The guitar ships in a relic’d G&G black tolex hard case with red/orange plush interior — period-correct, aged hardware, and perfectly matched to the build.

At GG, every guitar we list goes through a full inspection and setup. This one is ready to plug in and play.
