Here we have a Glas Customs Precision Bass build inspired by the golden-era 1962 P-Bass — finished in translucent honey blonde and relic’d as part of our 2025 Fall Collection. The alder body is lightweight at just 8 lbs, resonant and balanced when played acoustically. The finish has been UV-bombed to simulate decades of natural exposure, then cracked, yellowed, and dulled through a true lacquer-aging process. Every screw, plate, and piece of hardware has been carefully relic’d, and the parchment plastics have taken on a perfect, played-in glow. Butt-end board wear adds to the authenticity — the kind of detail you only see on true vintage Fenders. This one is a heavy relic with all the right scars.
The genuine Fender neck has been fully refinished in nitrocellulose lacquer, hand-sanded to a smooth, played-in feel, and finished off with tasteful relic work. The edges are hand rolled, the frets have been dressed, crowned, and polished, and it’s topped off with a hand-shaped nut. The rosewood fingerboard has been darkened and relic’d to simulate decades of use, including subtle wear at the butt end where the strings meet the pocket — just like a true early-’60s Fender would show. The truss rod is fully functional, turns smoothly, and is set with correct relief. In the hands, it plays like butter — effortless up and down the board with that classic Precision feel. The build is completed with a Glas Guitars branded neck plate — our signature mark, tying it into the Fall 2025 collection.
Electronics are all brand new, wired to full vintage spec with CTS pots, cloth wiring, and a TonePros 4-point jack — a serious upgrade over the weak factory cups, locking solid and staying tight for life. The result is classic Precision functionality with the dependability of modern components.
The pickups are genuine Fender, but the magic here is that they’ve been rewound by Arcane Pickups. Using traditional hand-winding machines and period-correct materials, the team recreated true early-’60s P-Bass spec. The result is nothing short of stunning — rich fundamental, deep low end, and that woody, growly midrange bark that made the ’62 Precision the studio and stage king. Dynamic and alive, with that unmistakable “thump” that only a properly wound split-coil can deliver.
Hardware is classic P-Bass: threaded steel saddles on the bridge, dome-top controls, and relic’d chrome throughout. Strung up with Slinkys, it’s set low, smooth, and responsive, with a fast, comfortable feel that makes it hard to put down.
